Hearing at Madison County Chancellor's office

Today, Feb. 6th, we had a hearing to meet with our chancellor in Madison County. It's special for us because the girls were unable to be with us in China for your adoption day. However, they are able to be apart of today when our great state of TN gives approvals. The chancellor reviewed and approved our Petition of Foreign Birth document. In the state of TN a child adopted internationally from China does not have to be re-adopted, because TN acknowledges and upholds the finalized adoption in their home province. This allows us the opportunity to apply for Luke's TN birth certificate and to have legal documents supporting that TN acknowledges and upholds the rulings carried out in your beautiful province and country~ Gansu, China.

The last step of paperwork now completed- the petition of Recognition of foreign birth. Now, the court will approve and apply for Luke's TN birth certificate.

Applying for Petition of Recognition of Foreign Birth

Next week we will go to a hearing as a family before the chancellor and receive approval of Recognition of foreign birth/adoption in Gansu, China... This will grant us the ability to officially apply for your Tennessee birth certificate- Luke O'Neil Perry!

Preparing for Chinese New Year!

Trying on your new Chinese New Year outfit that Mr. Jeff and Ms. Lezlie picked up for us while in China last month (while bringing home Aaron). I LOVE your cheeeese smile!
